Scholarship Application

Carlile Law Firm, LLP is thrilled to announce an annual scholarship opportunity aimed at promoting the study of law and related fields. The firm prides itself on its client-centered approach, focusing on the unique needs of each client with Confidence, Courage, and Determination.

The annual scholarship, valued at $1,000, will be awarded to at least one student each Fall. Carlile Law Firm, LLP reserves the right to grant multiple scholarships based on the number and quality of applicants. The scholarship is open to undergraduate or law school students focusing on pre-law or related fields, with the goal of attending law school. Incoming first-year law students at accredited colleges or universities are also eligible to apply.

The scholarship funds are intended to assist with tuition, fees, and other education-related expenses. Applicants must meet IRS and state tax requirements, as applicable. The deadline for applications and award timing details are outlined below. Applicants must provide proof of acceptance into an accredited undergraduate or law school program in the United States. Awards are granted in anticipation of the fall semester of the scholarship year.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the United States.
  • Proof of acceptance into an accredited undergraduate program focusing on pre-law or related fields, or proof of acceptance and enrollment in an accredited law school for the fall semester of the scholarship year.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the undergraduate level.

Requirements:

Applicants must submit the following documents by August 15th of each year:

  • Updated resume.
  • Typed, single-spaced, 12-point font essay of 500 to 1,000 words on a topic related to the practice of law.
  • Certified school transcripts from high school (for incoming college freshmen) or college (for all others or law school applicants).
  • Acceptance letter from an accredited U.S. college or law school.
  • Proof of legal residency in the U.S. (e.g., birth certificate, passport, permanent resident card).

Award:

  • The $1,000 scholarship is designated for tuition, living expenses, books, and supplies.
  • A check will be issued directly to the recipient(s).
  • Recipients must comply with IRS and state taxation regulations, submitting relevant receipts and proof of fund use.
  • Notification of the scholarship award will be sent by email and/or phone around September 20th of the award year.
  • Recipients must agree to use their name and likeness for publicity purposes.
  • Recipients must submit a video acceptance for marketing purposes.

Application Deadline:

All applications must be submitted electronically by August 15th of the scholarship year 2024. Direct contact with the firm or its representatives regarding the scholarship is discouraged; only electronically submitted applications will be considered.
